Access the Product List & Start the Cleanup
It begins the way many good things do, with a single click. You open the Inventory menu, head into the Product List, and there it is: your entire catalog staring back at you.
You notice a few inconsistencies. “Test Ring” and “Test Ring 1” which clearly meant to be the same. You click the round Action Button, choose Manage Product Categories, and the Product Tag Cleanup panel opens like a dashboard of possibilities.
From the dropdown, you select Type because that’s where most of the messy duplicates live. The system shows not just your existing tags, but also a Similar Items column that points out likely duplicates. You scan the list and see them, variations that snuck in over time.
A couple of clicks later, you’ve told the system, “Change all ‘Test Ring 1’ to ‘Test Ring.’” Just like that, those duplicates are gone, replaced with one clean, consistent tag.
Finalize the Cleanup & Bulk Update Tags
With the worst offenders fixed, you hit OK and get that satisfying confirmation: Product Types updated successfully.
But you’re not done. You realize there are entire groups of products that need the same type tag. Instead of updating them one by one, you select them all at once, click the Action Button again, and choose Edit.
In the Bulk Edit dialog, you pick Add Types, type in the correct tag, and click Okay. Instantly, every product in that selection is updated in one move.
It’s like going from picking weeds one at a time to sweeping the whole garden in one smooth pass.
